On Monday 7th February 2022 a total of twenty members and visitors attended the re-arranged Annual Installation Meeting of the Court of the South Saxons at the Ferring Village Hall. The Worshipful Master, W Bro Mickey Wiles welcomed RW Bro Lionel Mee, Provincial Grand Master and his Deputy, VW Bro Mark Donovan who were saluted according to tradition.
A Eulogy to Bro Tony Beldam aged 50, who had sadly passed to the Grand Court above on 27th January, was given by his Father W Bro Reg Beldam and the brethren stood to order in honour of departed Merit.
W Bro Mickey Wiles was elected for a further year and Proclaimed as Worshipful Master, following which he appointed and invested his officers. A new member, Bro Michael Crackerof, was Instructed into the Order in an excellent manner by the Master and Officers of the Court, and he later stated how much he had enjoyed the ceremony and was looking forward to progressing in the Order.
The Provincial Grand Master presented Grand Court Certificates to Bros Peter Scott, Simon Piper and Stephen Taylor in a most interesting and informative manner and congratulated them on becoming members of our wonderful Order.
19 brethren late enjoyed a Fish & Chip supper and departed in peace and harmony at 8.35 after honouring the usual Toasts.
The next meeting of the court will be on Monday, 4th July 2022.
