Presentation to V W Bro Glyn Goddard, KSM, Grand Marshal,
Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master

Presentation to V W Bro Glyn Goddard, KSM, Grand Marshal, Past Deputy Provincial Grand MasterV W Bro Glyn has been at the forefront of the birth and subsequent development of the Province of Sussex in the Masonic Order of Athelstan for eight years. Glyn, together with our Provincial Grand Master, R W Bro Brian J Prevett, KCSM, W Bro Alan Trotter, W Bro John Hickman, and W Bro Jack Handford were the first Court Master Masons in the Province of Sussex. They all travelled to Wolverton (in the Province of Hwicce) on 20th September 2006 where they were ‘Instructed’ into the Order in the Court of Aetheling, No 10.

Since this time Glyn has well and worthily served the Order, the Province of Sussex, and our Provincial Grand Master. In the Province he has held continual Provincial Office, since the Province was constituted on 26th May 2007, first as Provincial Marshal and then Deputy Provincial Grand Master until standing down as Deputy on 28th April 2014. He has served Grand Court with equal distinction. He was appointed Grand Guard in 2009; then appointed to Deputy Grand Marshal in 2011. An Office he held until appointed Grand Marshal in 2013. As a reward for his meritorious service to the Order of Athelstan he was appointed a Knight of the Scarlet Mantle in 2013.

In thanking V W Bro Glyn for his loyalty and distinguished service to the Province the Provincial Grand Master made a presentation of a Travelling Clock, which bears the distinguishing Logo of the Provincial Grand Court of Sussex.
